2024-25
We’re available to offer support and resources to help plan for your arrival – whether you have questions about what to bring with you, when to arrive, or where to park, we want to make your move-in a success. Get ready to make Knox Residence your home away from home!
Everything you need to know to prepare for your move into residence is outlined below. Please review all information prior to arrival.
All incoming residents must book a move in time slot before they arrive on their chosen move in day. Time slots are available to book now in StarRez.
Need to arrive after hours?
If you absolutely cannot arrive during the set move in hours on the official move-in days, please contact us in advance at info.knoxresidence@utoronto.ca so we may explore if arrangements can be made.
At your scheduled move-in time slot, visit the Service Desk during operational hours to pick up your keys and welcome package. During the check-in process, you will be asked to provide photo ID. If you’ll be arriving after your scheduled move-in date, please plan to pick up your keys during office hours.
Please ensure that you bring photo identification with you as you will need this to collect your welcome package and keys.
Room assignments are final, and students cannot request changes, except for accessibility-related reasons. The University reserves the right to change your suite and/or room number assignment to facilitate unforeseen or exceptional circumstances.
As a historic building, each room at Knox Residence is one of a kind, and there might be some variations in size among rooms of the same type.

Bicycles
Knox Residence offers a limited number of indoor bicycle spaces within our dedicated bike room, located on the lower level.
To secure a space for your bike, you may submit a request to rent a bike space at the Service Desk. Until your allocation in the bike room is confirmed, making alternative arrangements for storing your bicycle is recommended. While awaiting confirmation, residents are free to use the outdoor bike racks located outside the building. Bicycles are not permitted to be stored in rooms or common areas.
parking
Please note that there is no parking available at Knox Residence. There are public parking garages close to residence along with street parking.
We advise residents to understand street parking regulations as it is not uncommon for individuals to receive parking tickets.
occupancy fees
Information regarding occupancy fees is available here.
Once you move in, occupancy fees for all U of T students living in Knox Residence are billed via the Accessible Campus Online Resource Network (ACORN). Students moving into Knox Residence should expect to see their fees posted to their ACORN account within the first two weeks of moving in.
accessibility
Students with accessibility needs who require accommodations in residence should first register with Accessibility Services at the University of Toronto.
Once registered, please email info.knoxresidence@utoronto.ca in advance of your move-in date with the appropriate documentation. A member of the Residence Office will work with you on your accommodations based on the letter provided by Accessibility Services.
We’re available to offer support and resources to help plan for your arrival. Whether you have questions about what to bring with you, when to arrive, or where to park, we’re on hand to make your move-in a success.
