Important information
Please be sure to read the below information thoroughly.
Start packing at least a week or two in advance so you don’t have to do it all on the last day. To ensure a safe and efficient move, please pack your belongings in stackable boxes or containers, minimizing the number of loose items.
All furniture, appliances, and equipment that were provided in the room at the start of your occupancy must remain in the room after moving out, or subsequent charges will apply.
All personal items must be removed from the room during your move out.
Please be aware that once you have moved out, Knox Residence will discard all articles remaining in your room or in common areas. We strongly suggest that you perform your own thorough room inspection to look for forgotten articles.
Make your travel and storage arrangements for your personal belongings ahead of time. If you will be living at Knox Residence for the upcoming academic year, but not during the summer, you will need to make alternative arrangements for storing your belongings.
Dons will not be assisting with lifting or moving any items, so please be proactive in reaching out to family members, friends, and/or professional movers to help you move if you need help to move your belongings.
Moving carts are available to borrow from the Service Desk during opening hours. You will need to show your TCard to borrow the cart.
Please return your keys to the Service Desk to complete your check out. When the Service Desk is closed, return your keys in the drop box in the mail area located in the lobby.
Please be sure to update your mailing address on ACORN and with other important contacts. As of May 1, mail and packages received for non-residents will be returned to sender. Canada Post offers a temporary mail-forwarding service.
You may wish to schedule a voluntary pre-move-out inspection. Its purpose is to identify any obvious damages as well as to advise you about how to avoid extra cleaning charges.
Inspections can be scheduled via email. Inspections must be scheduled a minimum of one business day prior to move-out date. Inspections can only take place between Monday – Friday, so please plan accordingly.
Do not remove any wall adhesives (including Command Strips) from your walls. Our maintenance team will remove them.
Empty your room of all waste and garbage, including food items. Dispose of items in the correct bins in the garbage rooms.
Please close all windows, turn off the fan and light, and close your room door. By securing your door you are ensuring that your bedroom is exactly as you left it for your post-move out room inspection.
There is no onsite parking at Knox Residence, but you’ll find lots of parking available nearby across the St. George campus. Visit the Transportation Services website to learn more about where to park.
