Summer Residence
Our summer residence is open from May 4 – August 23, 2026.
Applications are open to:
- all U of T undergraduate and graduate students
- any student enrolled at a post-secondary program at a recognized institution, including those on a placement, co-op or work term
- U of T alumni
- students taking School of Continuing Studies courses
Spaces are offered on a first come, first serve basis. There is a minimum booking term of 30 days.

Dormitory style rooms
Single or double bedrooms with shared washrooms.

Bedrooms and Amenities
Knox Residence offers dormitory style accommodation with single or double* bedrooms.
Shared washroom facilities, with toilet stalls and shower cubicles, are available on each floor.
Guests also have access to our communal spaces and on-site facilities, including:
- Laundry room
- Gym
- Common rooms, with pool table, foosball and TVs
Knox Residence does not have cooking or dining facilities. Communal fridges and microwaves are also available for guest use.
*Double bedrooms are only available for students who have a pre-selected roommate. To request a double room, please email us at info.knoxresidence@utoronto.ca.

Full summer stays are from May 4 – August 23, 2026.

*Discounted early bird rates are available for bookings made before March 31st
Any fees listed on our website are indicative and subject to final approval. Final fee assessments will be conducted in accordance with the applicable policies and guidelines at the University of Toronto. Any changes to fees will be updated by April 2026.
How to Apply
Applications for Summer Residence are made via StarRez.
- Log in to the StarRez Portal. If you aren’t a U of T student, you will be able to register for an account.
- Once logged in, click on the Summer tab in the blue menu bar.
- Scroll down to the Knox Residence – Summer 2026 application, and click Apply.
FAQ
FuYes! All students enrolled in a post-secondary institution, including those on a placement, co-op or work term, are eligible to apply. You do not have to be a University of Toronto student to stay with us during the summer.

A minimum stay of 30 days is required. You can stay up to four months for full summer stays.
For stays of less than 30 days, you can make a booking with our summer accommodations team via Stay at U of T.
- llIf you applied through StarRez and you are a U of T student
Your first payment must be submitted through the application on Moneris. Once this payment is completed it unlocks the remaining sections of your application. You will pay the remaining balance through your ACORN account.
Any unpaid fees on ACORN on the 15th of each month are subject to service charges.
- If you applied through StarRez and you are NOT a U of T student
Your first payment must be submitted through the application on Moneris. Payment for the remaining balance of fees can be made through the Account section of your StarRez portal, located under the hamburger menu at the top left.
Fees balance is due upon or prior to arrival at Knox Residence for check-in.
Summer offers are typically sent in early to mid-March. If you meet our eligibility requirements and space permits, you will be contacted by email with an offer.l
Knox Residence does not have cooking or dining facilities onsite, but there are lots of places nearby to eat on campus.
If you”re looking for a stay with an onsite Dining Hall and meal plan, we recommend Chestnut Residence. Looking for suite-style living with full kitchen facilities? Stay at Graduate House.
